Prosthetics

All acrylic, metal/acrylic, attachment and implant retained prosthetics.

At M Gill Ltd all prosthetic work is undertaken by long serving, dedicated and experienced technicians who are highly trained in all aspects of fixed and removable prosthetics, including attachment and implant retained appliances.

All acrylic work is carried out utilising injection moulding techniques, together with ‘high impact’ acrylic resin, guaranteeing an optimal fit with no possibility of any dimensional changes during the processing procedures.

The use of this technique results in a prosthesis which exhibits maximum strength containing barely any trace of residual monomer, thus overcoming some patient allergy concerns which can result from conventional processing techniques.

As standard practice we routinely contour and facet all acrylic work, which is processed on duplicate casts then fitted back to the original master cast and occlusion checked so as to minimise the final fit appointment.

Our chrome-cobalt department utilises a nickel/beryllium free casting alloy.  Where possible we utilise ‘hidden clasping’ methods, especially towards the front of the mouth.  These clasps utilise the mesial/distal undercuts of teeth, rather than the buccal surface.  As an alternative we can also offer ‘tooth coloured’ acrylic clasps and attachment retained prostheses.

All work includes a weekend carry bag, brush and aftercare instructions, together with a sonic denture-cleaning bath for our advanced quality prostheses.

As part of our service we are happy to aid the clinician with technical support throughout our full range of prosthetics.  From receipt of study casts we can give your patients an individual technical treatment plan with options available, design ideas and full costings.

As a result of our confidence in our prosthetic work we offer a five year guarantee against failure of the prostheses and in any event where we do not meet complete patient satisfaction the invoice will be cancelled or a free replacement offered.
